Kevin Kelly is een wereldberoemde technologiedenker, behalve in Nederland. De man die ooit schreef voor Steve Jobs-bijbel Whole Earth Catalog en de eerste hoofdredacteur van Wired was, is hier grotendeels onbekend.
Maar niet onbemind! Ik lees al jaren met plezier zijn blog en zijn artikel ‘A Thousand True Fans’ veranderde in 2008 mijn leven.
De beste man is de zeventig gepasseerd en het staat hem daarom vrij een boek uit te brengen met de volgende titel: Excellent Advice for Living: Wisdom I Wish I’d Known Earlier.
In het boek deelt Kelly meer dan vierhonderd aforismen met levenswijsheden. Hij schreef ze voor zijn zoon en verwoordde de lessen zo beknopt mogelijk.
Het is een heerlijke verzameling geworden van wijsheden, habits en hacks rond de volgende thema’s:
- Goed mens zijn voor de mensen om je heen
- Goed vragen kunnen stellen en luisteren
- Goed doelen kunnen stellen
- Goed kunnen leren
- Goed je excuses kunnen aanbieden
- Goed je interesses kunnen ontdekken en volgen
